So, when a fellow foodie wrote to me about availability of Paaya Biryani at a place near Puliyanthope Mosque, as early as morning 7 AM, only on Wednesdays, I knew I would surely go one day. After many failed attempts, I embarked on my journey along with a friend, one fine Wednesday.
With the help of Google Maps to Puliyanthope Mosque, I reached the place looking for Paaya Biryani, asking the locals for pointers to this particular shop. But by the time, I could find the place (this one doesn't have a name or name board so I went past the place searching for it) it was around 8 - 8.15 but Alas! there was only Kuska available 😐. While searching for this place I bumped into another place that serves Paaya Biryani on Fridays.
Paaya Biryani on Wednesdays:
When I asked the people there, they said no name for their shop but probably you can call it 'Barakath'. It's sad that I couldn't taste the Paaya but the Biryani was too good. If you are planning to go, please go as early as 7 or 8, otherwise it gets over. On other days, they sell Chicken Biryani. There is a place to sit and eat (on the floor). The Biryani comes with a Mint Chutney. As such, I didn't need anything along with the Biryani. Cost of Paaya Biryani here was ₹90 and Kuska was for ₹45.
Location: The street next to Puliyanthope Mosque. It's called Ramaswamy Street. Near Alankar Bakes. Enter the street, on your right, next to Bismi Biryani & Fast Food you'll find this place. No name board, doors will be painted in blue colour.
Paaya Biryani on Fridays:
The name of this place is Shahi Biryani. They serve Beef Biryani on days other than Fridays. I went around 8 and there was availability but by the time I left, almost three fourths of the Biryani Anda had disappeared. Don't expect a fair service. People who come before you might get served first or a better piece of Paaya, as they are regulars. But, sometimes, it's better to shed the Ego for a cause like this😛. Paaya Biryani costs ₹80 and Kuska available at ₹50 and ₹30.

From the above mentioned (Barakath) place go straight, take the last left, go straight you'll reach a T junction. Shahi is in the T junction right next to a tea shop. There could be another way of going to this place. Probably the next right after the Puliyanthope Mosque and that road could lead to this place. But, I've given directions of what I'm very sure about.
